Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their client's team in Nevada. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with various departments, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory-related financial processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the organization's financial accuracy and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Review and process inventory-related invoices, ensuring accurate overhead costs and alignment with supporting records.
- Prepare and analyze monthly cost and variance reports to verify overhead cost accuracy for management review and make correcting adjustments as necessary.
- Support month-end close through preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of inventory costs and applicable overhead expense accounts.
- Partner closely with purchasing, logistics, and other departments to analyze data, resolve variances, and ensure inventory cost accuracy.
- Perform detailed reconciliations across multiple reports using advanced Excel functions and analytical techniques.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve cost accounting processes, reporting, and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting or a related finance role, including experience with accounting for inventory.
- Experience in both cost accounting and accounts payable is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting methods with the ability to prepare and present detailed cost reports, including analysis of costs and profitability.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail ensuring accurate calculations and ability to spot discrepancies.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Must be adaptable and able to transition seamlessly between tasks.
- Knowledge of global shipping logistics and international trade practices is a plus.
- Ability to spot errors or discrepancies in invoices and resolve issues.
- Ability to adapt to changes in systems, processes, or company policies.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 1st shift.

Additional Details
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 per year.
